Please find answers below to the questions most frequently asked by visitors about boats in transit.
At Gijón Marina, which mooring areas are used for boats in transit?
Gijón Marina has several docks reserved for vessels in transit. Before entering the port, please contact us and we will inform you which mooring is best suited to your boat.
What do the mooring prices include?
Rates are based on length of stay (daily, monthly) and vary according to the season (high season 16 May to 15 September, low season 16 September to 15 May). Prices are calculated based on the area of the boat (in square metres, length x beam) and include: mooring, minimum water and electricity consumption, rubbish collection, port taxes and VAT.
What documentation is required?
Upon arrival at the port, you will be asked for the following documentation:
- Passport / ID for each member of the crew.
- Boat registration form (Hoja de Asiento)
- Valid boat insurance policy and proof of current insurance payment
At check-in you will receive a National Police declaration of entry form which must be filled in with information about the captain and all passengers on board.
Is there surveillance on the jetties?
There are surveillance cameras throughout the port area. In addition, port staff checks the condition of all vessels daily.
Does Gijón Marina have WiFi?
We offer free WiFi service to all marina customers.
How do I access the dock?
Access to the docks is via key cards and/or keys. One card and/or key is issued for each boat and a 20€ refundable deposit is required, which will be returned at check-out.
How do I access the toilets and laundry area?
The toilets and laundry area may be accessed using the same card given to you at check-in.
Where are the washer and dryer located?
The washer and dryer are located in the toilet area of the office building and can be operated using 1€ and 2€ coins. Each service costs 4€ per wash/dry cycle. Detergent and fabric softener are provided.
What is the draught at the fuelling dock at low tide?
The draught at the fuelling dock is 1.70 m at low tide.
Where can I rent a bicycle?
Gijón Marina has bicycles available for customers to rent on a daily basis during high season. The rate is €10/day.
I need an electrical adapter for my boat. Where can I get one?
You can request an electrical adapter at our office to be lent to you during your stay. A 10€ refundable deposit is required.
